about

There was a time, not so long ago that I worked (on rare occasion) 15-hour days at a local mom and pop (one stop) pizza show aptly titled "Mario's." It was my full-time job, my means to an end, my rent, my food, and my financial support to a not-so-loving wife (see also: track 3, track 4 and track 5). IT WAS MY LIFE! I ate, slept and drank pizza. 60-hour work weeks were not uncommon. I quickly found my way up the ladder of pizza success and at one point (dubbed the pizza doctor) was offered a chance to help open a new shop (part of a supposed chain) in another city. I respectfully declined. These memories, to me, mark the height of my search for (due to a complete and utter lack of) meaning. Although this song was written in a state of deep removal from the above described situation, Mario's, and of course the question of "jesus' favorite color," were my inspiration for this song.
